On Monday, November 8th, the Grade 5 Spanish Class visited El Museo del Barrio and participated in a Día de los Muertos. El Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. The ritual dates backs thousands of years to an Aztec festival and has seen been accommodated by the Catholic Church and celebrated by many South American Countries. The holiday is a time of celebration. It focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember those who have passed away.
