English teacher Kevin Dearinger, who moderates the annual Laura P. Muhlfeld Spelling Bee, reports on this year’s competition: “Energizing the gray days of winter, all the boys from the second to the eighth grades participated in the classroom rounds of the spelling bee. On January 26, from an impressive field of skilled finalists, three winners emerged in the Lower School. A week later, the grueling final rounds of the Middle School Bee took place. The competition in both bees was fierce and exciting. The competition ran a number of rounds longer than it did last year, and the finalists were impressive. Congratulations to all!
