Professional Chess Masters come into the classrooms...

Chess is an integral part of the Lower School curriculum, starting in Pre-Primary and continuing through Second Grade. Professional Chess Masters come into the classrooms to teach the fundamentals of the game, including various defensive and offensive strategies. All students may continue chess at the extracurricular level through Middle School. Browning has a very active Chess Club, and many of our students participate in the Nationals every year. The School has traditionally done very well at this event, often placing among the top five or ten schools in the nation!
