I believe we have an obligation to read for pleasure, in private and in public places. If we read for pleasure, if others see us reading, then we learn, we exercise our imaginations. We show others that reading is a good thing.
— Neil Gaiman, author

The Browning Library supports the school curriculum and provides access to information, technology and literature for all students. The Library houses over 9,000 print volumes, approximately 70 periodicals, 24 subscription databases indexing hundreds of publications, and a growing collection of DVDs, ebooks and audiobooks.

Students in Pre-primary through Grade Six visit the library on a weekly basis for instruction and to check out books. To support work on projects and research papers, Middle and Upper School teachers may arrange classroom visits to the library. The teachers and librarians collaborate to introduce the boys to specific print and electronic resources to assist their research.

The library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Wednesday when we close at 3:15 p.m. (for our weekly faculty meeting). Boys are encouraged to use the library before and after school to check out books, magazines or other resources.
