2010 Form III Pine Forest Trip

On a dark and wet Thursday, September 30, the entire Form III boarded a coach bus and headed off on the annual Form III trip to Pine Forest Camp, in Greeley, PA. The two-day trip, which usually culminates with an eight-mile canoe trip down the Delaware River, was a bit different this year. A 1000-mile long tropical storm moving up the east coast dumped upwards of five inches of rain on Pennsylvania making the Delaware River too high and too fast for inexperienced paddlers. Instead, with the help of the Mountain Workshop team of outdoor-experience facilitators, the boys of Form III stayed at Pine Forest, an 80-year old co-ed camp, and engaged in team-building activities, low rope challenges, a bonfire, at which they made samores, and, on Friday, several hours canoeing on the lake at the camp. It was a great opportunity for Form III to take a short breather after three weeks in the Upper School and to get to know the new members of the class even better. Despite the inclement conditions, Form III was game for any activity and respectful of each other and all of the trip facilitators. A good, though wet, time was had by all.
