2011 Three Kings Day Parade

On Thursday, January 6, the entire Fifth Grade participated in the Three Kings Day (or El día de los reyes magos) parade. January 6, or the Epiphany, marks the day when Catholics believe The Three Wise Men delivered gifts of frankincense, myrrh and gold to the baby Jesus. The boys learned that Three Kings Day is a holiday that is not only celebrated in Latin America, but also in different parts of the world. El Museo del Barrio in New York City, which has hosted a Three Kings Day parade for the past 34 years, had over 3,000 teachers and kids to come enjoy the artist-designed paper Mache puppets, the animals and live music.
