For almost forty years, El Museo del Barrio has had a tremendous impact in representing the art and culture of the Caribbean and Latin America. The boys attended a cultural workshop, designed for Middle School students, centering on El día de los tres reyes, one of the most festive events of the holiday season in Latin America, the Caribbean and various European countries. Three King's Day honor the story of the King's, or the three wise men's, travels to Bethlehem and their arrive on the Epiphany. It is a time to rejoice with family and friends. A presentation of the history of the holiday and its traditions allowed the students to demonstrate what they have been learning in Spanish class. Towards the end of the workshop the boys were given the opportunity to create their own Three King's Day Crown, and were then taken to the Art Gallery to view and learn about the current exhibit on display.
