Chess

RC-002-ALUM2016.jpg

Chess is an integral part of the Lower School curriculum, starting in Pre-primary and continuing through Grade Two. Professional chess masters teach the fundamentals of the game, including various defensive and offensive strategies. All students may continue chess at the extracurricular level through Middle School. Browning has an active Chess Club, and many students participate in the Nationals every year. The School has traditionally performed well at this event, often placing among the top five or 10 schools in the nation.

After school chess lessons are offered on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays by registering through Veracross.
