Grade One got into the Halloween spirit at Queens County Farm, where they took a hayride and picked out their own pumpkin from the farm’s patch. They also learned about -- and even fed -- various farm animals, including chickens, cows, alpacas and goats. Back at school, the boys put their pumpkins to good use as they studied units of measurement in math class.

On October 12 Form III boys participated in an overnight camping trip to Pine Forest Camp in Pennsylvania, where they enjoyed canoeing, high rope challenges, and rafting down the Delaware River.

On October 14, 19 Lower School boys played in the School's rookie chess tournament, a training event for these younger boys who are taking their first steps in organized competition. A family chess night was later held on October 19 with over 100 boys and parents in attendance.

On October 18 the Browning and Brearley cast of the Middle School production of "As You Like It" attended a professional version of the same at the Classic Stage Company. Featuring Ellen Burstyn as Jaques, along with an accomplished ensemble of actors, singers and musicians, the production provided 100 minutes of great Shakespearean humor, drama and romance.
