Annual Giving

The mission of the Annual Giving Fund is to support Browning’s annual operational needs. Where the endowment is by definition restricted, the Annual Giving Fund provides flexible, immediate funds. Annual Giving supports approximately 10% of the School’s annual operating budget. Consider that it would require approximately $24 million in endowment to generate the amount given this past fiscal year through the Fund by alumni, parents and friends.

Included among the initiatives that your gift to Annual Giving helps support are:

  • academic programs
  • faculty compensation and professional development
  • financial assistance & scholarships
  • athletics, student activities, & clubs
  • fine and performing arts program
  • facilities maintenance

Traditionally, the majority of gifts made to Browning come in the form of cash. A gift of cash entitles a donor to the most generous federal income tax deduction available for charitable contributions. You may deduct up to fifty percent of your adjusted gross income for gifts of cash and may carry any amount over that figure forward for up to five additional years.
