As we continue to evolve and extend to our online learning platform, we are launching Inquiry@BrowningConnect to further boys’ pursuit of knowledge and skill beyond their traditional academic subjects. This voluntary program will build upon students’ desire to engage more deeply with information and activities in which they have already expressed interest. With the guidance of advisors, and coaching of associated faculty and staff members, boys who participate in the program will explore passion projects that they can work on through a series of scaffolded steps. The program is designed to ensure that these students work at an appropriate pace to make clear progress toward their learning goals, and will capitalize on the time and space students have now to take a deep dive into areas that might have remained beyond reach during a normal school year.

This independent work, designed to empower boys and give them more agency over their own education, can continue into the summer and beyond, depending on interest. Presentations are built into the program so that peers can applaud, encourage, and learn from the boys who embark upon this course of study. As education continues to reshape itself in response to the global pandemic, Inquiry@BrowningConnect allows us to utilize educational models that reinforce our core values of curiosity and purpose while continuing to develop in our boys the intrinsic motivation, fluid thinking and innovative habits of mind that will allow them to succeed in a world that is being shaped by circumstances unlike any we have seen before.
