The varsity indoor track team had a successful inaugural season. The boys endured the cold winter season and worked hard each day, alternating between endurance and speed training. The team also spent time in the weight room every week and improved their strength over the course of the season.
The team competed in five meets and sent two runners to the NYSAIS Championships. Ryan Eagan ’20 set a personal record in 3200m with a time of 9:56.40 and finished fourth overall in 1600m with a time of 4:44.75. Teammate Gio Taveras ’20 had a strong showing in the 55m with a time of 7.20. Many of their teammates came close to qualifying, and we hope to continue to build on such momentum this spring.
